A premium Beijing–Lhasa–EBC–Kailash journey with the full kora.
Luxury Kailash Yatra with Everest Base Camp
Route note (September 2026): this journey enters and leaves Tibet by air via Beijing and Lhasa. It does not depend on the Rasuwagadhi–Kerung road damaged by the August 2026 flash flood. EBC access, Tibet permits, Kailash and Mansarovar route approvals, flight timing, road movement, visibility and overnight stops still depend on weather, current regulations, local rules and group health. Final operating details are confirmed before departure.

This itinerary joins China’s capital, Tibet’s sacred heart, Everest Base Camp Tibet, Lake Mansarovar and Mount Kailash Darshan into one premium highland journey.
Why this route is different
The Luxury Kailash Yatra with Everest Base Camp is not a standard Kailash Mansarovar package. It is also not a normal Everest Base Camp trek. This itinerary connects two of the greatest Himalayan presences in one Tibet route: Everest, the world’s highest mountain, and Mount Kailash, one of Asia’s most revered sacred mountains. Read More

Thirteen days through Beijing, Tibet, Everest and Kailash Detailed Itinerary.
This itinerary combines China’s capital, Tibet’s sacred city, Everest Base Camp on the Tibet side, Lake Mansarovar and Mount Kailash Kora. It is a luxury route, but still high, remote and permit-controlled.
Day 1 Arrival in Beijing and Journey Briefing
The journey begins in Beijing, far from the silence of Kailash but important to the structure of this route. This is the China gateway before Tibet, Everest and Mansarovar.
You arrive in Beijing and transfer to the hotel. The day is used for rest, check-in and settling after international travel. Depending on arrival time, the team may review the coming flight to Lhasa, documents, permit timing and the overall route.
Beijing hotel accommodation is 5-star as per inclusions. Use this comfort well. The route ahead becomes higher and more remote, with more practical stays during the Tibet overland section.
Rest, hydrate and adjust after international travel. Keep passport, China visa documents and flight details ready.
Day 2 Beijing City Tour and the Great Wall
This day gives the journey a cultural opening before Tibet. The Great Wall shows human effort and history; Kailash later shows sacred restraint and humility.
You enjoy a Beijing city tour including the Great Wall of China. The day introduces China’s cultural scale and gives the traveller a memorable start before flying to Lhasa.
The Great Wall is not part of Kailash sacred geography, but it adds a powerful contrast to the journey. You begin with one of humanity’s great constructions, then continue toward mountains and lakes where nature and devotion become central.
Overnight in a 5-star Beijing hotel. Daily breakfast is included; other meals follow the final program.
Avoid overexertion before the next day’s flight to high-altitude Lhasa.
Day 3 Flight from Beijing to Lhasa
The journey turns toward Tibet. This is the first major altitude transition of the itinerary.
You fly from Beijing to Lhasa. Upon arrival, transfer to your 5-star hotel in Lhasa. The rest of the day should be kept light for acclimatization.
Lhasa is not only a city stop. It is Tibet’s spiritual heart. The atmosphere, prayer flags, monasteries and pilgrim movement begin preparing you for the wider sacred world of Kailash.
5-star Lhasa accommodation is included. Meals follow the final program. Eat lightly if altitude affects appetite.
Lhasa is around 3,650m. Rest is important. Avoid fast walking, alcohol and heavy exertion.
Day 4 Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple in Lhasa
This day brings you into Tibet’s sacred heart. Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple help you understand the culture that holds Kailash in reverence.
You visit Potala Palace, one of Tibet’s most iconic landmarks, followed by Jokhang Temple, one of the most revered Buddhist temples in Tibet. Depending on timing, the surrounding Barkhor area may also be experienced as part of the pilgrimage atmosphere.
These are living sacred places. Follow guide instructions, photography rules and local conduct. Watch how Tibetan pilgrims move with prayer; that rhythm helps prepare the mind for Kailash.
Return to your 5-star Lhasa hotel. Daily breakfast is included; other meals follow the final program.
Sightseeing in Lhasa still happens at altitude. Walk slowly, especially at stairs and palace areas.
Day 5 Lhasa to Shigatse via Yamdrok Lake and Gyantse
The route leaves Lhasa and begins crossing Tibet’s sacred lake and monastery landscape.
You drive from Lhasa toward Shigatse via Yamdrok Lake and Gyantse. Yamdrok Lake offers turquoise water and mountain scenery. Gyantse adds cultural and historical texture before the route reaches Shigatse.
Yamdrok is one of Tibet’s sacred lakes. Seeing Yamdrok before Mansarovar gives the traveller a first experience of Tibet’s lake spirituality. It prepares the heart for the sacred water of Mansarovar later.
Accommodation in Shigatse or as per final overland program. Lunch and dinner during Tibet overland travel are included as stated.
High passes and long drives can tire the body. Keep water and warm layers accessible.
Day 6 Drive from Shigatse to Everest Base Camp
The journey turns toward Everest, the mountain of scale. This is the Tibet-side Everest Base Camp experience, not the Nepal trekking route.
You drive from Shigatse toward Everest Base Camp. The road moves deeper into highland Tibet and toward the north-side Everest landscape. Access and exact movement depend on permits, road conditions and current regulations.
Everest Base Camp in Tibet offers a different experience from the Nepal trekking route. It is reached by vehicle-supported overland travel, not a multi-day trek. The power of the place comes from open plateau, wind, distance and the great north-side presence of Everest.
Accommodation during the Tibet overland journey is included. Remote stays near EBC can be practical and simpler than city hotels. Meals during the overland section are included as stated.
EBC is high. Move slowly and avoid overexertion. Weather can change quickly.
Day 7 Full Day at Everest Base Camp, then Drive to Saga
This day gives time to receive Everest before turning toward Kailash and Mansarovar. Two great mountain presences shape the journey, but in very different ways.
You spend time at Everest Base Camp according to the final program and access rules. Afterwards, you drive toward Saga, an important plateau stop on the way to the Kailash-Mansarovar region.
EBC gives awe through height and scale. Saga begins the westward movement toward sacred geography. The emotional direction changes: from the world’s highest peak toward one of the world’s most revered sacred mountains.
Overnight in Saga. Meals during the overland section are included. The stay is practical compared with Beijing and Lhasa.
The route remains high. Rest after EBC and avoid assuming the body is fully adjusted.
Day 8 Drive from Saga to Lake Mansarovar
This is the day the journey reaches sacred water. After Beijing, Lhasa, Yamdrok, Shigatse and Everest, Lake Mansarovar brings the route into the Kailash sacred field.
You drive from Saga toward Lake Mansarovar. On arrival, you settle into the planned accommodation and spend time near the lake according to the final itinerary.
Mansarovar is revered across Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and Bon traditions. For many pilgrims, the lake is not only beautiful; it is a place of prayer, family remembrance and sacred water. After Everest’s grandeur, Mansarovar gives stillness.
Accommodation near Mansarovar is practical and remote. Meals during Tibet overland travel are included.
The lake is high and exposed. Keep warm and move slowly.
Day 9 Mansarovar Puja, Lake Kora and Drive to Darchen
The lake receives the prayer, and the prayer receives the road. Today the journey circles Lake Mansarovar by vehicle — the lake kora — before the Kailash Kora begins.
The morning is dedicated to puja at Lake Mansarovar: offerings, prayers and time by the sacred water. Afterwards, the vehicle lake kora carries the group around the shoreline, with stops for prayer and silence at the quiet corners of the lake. The route also visits Rakshas Tal, the darker lake beside Mansarovar, which tradition holds in very different mood.
In the afternoon, the group drives to Darchen, the base town of the Kailash Kora, for rest and final trek preparation.
The lake kora by vehicle lets every pilgrim receive the full shoreline without demanding a trek around it. Weather, road conditions and health still shape the day. Darchen is the last town comfort before three walking days — reorganize bags tonight.
Best available Darchen hotel, with oxygen supply in the bedrooms. Meals are on full-board basis for the Tibet overland journey.
Mansarovar sits near 4,590m. Walk slowly at prayer stops, keep warm in the wind, and report any symptom early — the kora starts tomorrow.
Day 10 The Kora Begins: Darchen to Dirapuk
The vehicles stop carrying the prayer. From today, the body carries it. The full Kailash Kora begins.
From Darchen the group moves to Tarboche and Yamadwar, the gateway of the kora. The trail then follows the Lha Chu valley toward Dirapuk. On clear days the west face gives way to the north face of Mount Kailash, which grows closer and more commanding with every hour.
The walk is gradual by kora standards, but the altitude is real and the day is long enough to demand patience.
Tibetan pilgrimage traditions remember this valley through stories of caves, masters and sacred signs. Dirapuk, beneath the north face, is one of the most powerful overnight places of the entire Kailash region.
Best available lodge at Dirapuk — simple rooms, cold conditions, oxygen supply in the bedrooms. Meals are on full-board basis, cooked simply at this remote stop.
Sleeping near 4,900m can feel harder than walking. Go slowly, eat lightly and keep warm. Do not spend all your energy today — Dolma La is tomorrow.
Day 11 Kora Day 2: Dolma La Pass to Zuthulphuk
This is the day every pilgrim must respect. Dolma La is the highest point of the kora — and of this entire journey, higher even than Everest Base Camp. Devotion, altitude and humility meet on one pass.
The trek begins early from Dirapuk and climbs toward Dolma La Pass at approximately 5,630m, marked with prayer flags. After the pass, the trail descends past the area associated with Gauri Kund and continues toward Zuthulphuk, the monastery linked with the Tibetan saint Milarepa.
The day includes hard climbing and a tiring descent. Warmth, pacing and honest symptom reporting matter more than any schedule.
Dolma La is associated with Tara and treated as a sacred threshold. Hindu pilgrims hold Gauri Kund in deep reverence. These meanings make the day spiritually powerful — they do not make the altitude less serious.
Best available lodge at Zuthulphuk — simple and cold, with oxygen supply in the bedrooms. Meals are on full-board basis.
Severe headache, confusion, breathlessness at rest or loss of coordination must be taken seriously. Descent and health decisions come before completion. Tell the guide early.
Day 12 Kora Day 3: Completing the Kora and Drive to Saga
The circuit closes. The final walking section is gentle, and by afternoon the body is back on four wheels, carrying a completed kora toward the return road.
A short final trek completes the Kailash Kora back toward Darchen. After the circuit closes, the group drives east across the plateau to Saga, retracing part of the outbound road.
Many pilgrims describe this day as quiet — the mountain is behind, and the journey begins to settle.
Best available Saga hotel, with oxygen supply in the bedrooms. Meals are on full-board basis for the Tibet overland journey.
Fatigue after Dolma La can arrive a day late. Rest, hydrate and take the drive gently.
Day 13 Return Drive from Saga to Lhasa
The long return east. The same landscapes that opened the journey now close it — plateau, passes, valleys and finally the Lhasa valley again.
The group drives from Saga back to Lhasa, a long but comfortable day on the return road with rest stops as needed. In Lhasa, the 5-star hotel welcomes the body back to city comfort after the kora.
Return to the 5-star Lhasa hotel. Meals are on full-board basis for the Tibet overland journey.
A hot shower and a soft bed after the kora are part of the journey too. Sleep well — the flight is tomorrow.
Day 14 Flight from Lhasa to Beijing
The pilgrimage closes where it began — in Beijing. The kora is completed, Everest has been stood beneath, and the sacred geography of Tibet travels home with you.
After breakfast, you transfer to Lhasa Gonggar Airport for the flight back to Beijing. On arrival in Beijing, the package concludes. Depending on your international connection, you may fly home the same day or extend your stay in China — our team helps you plan the timing either way.
This journey held two of the world’s great sacred geographies in one arc: Everest Base Camp and the complete Kailash Kora with Dolma La. Few pilgrims ever receive both. Carry them with care.
Breakfast is included as per your flight time. Keep documents, tickets and sacred items ready.

Before you choose the EBC and Kailash route
Clear answers on the full kora, EBC Tibet, permits, meals, luxury standards and the Beijing start on this 14-day journey.
Is this Everest Base Camp in Tibet or Nepal?
This itinerary visits Everest Base Camp on the Tibet side. It is a vehicle-supported Tibet overland experience, not the multi-day trekking route to Everest Base Camp in Nepal.
Does this trip include the full Kailash Kora?
Yes. This itinerary includes the full three-day Kailash Kora: Tarboche/Yamadwar to Dirapuk, the Dolma La crossing to Zuthulphuk, and the completion back to Darchen. The kora is sacred and physically demanding — health and descent decisions come before completion.
What makes this a luxury Kailash route?
The trip includes 5-star hotel accommodation in Beijing and Lhasa, a luxury private vehicle for Tibet, professional tour management, bottled water, guided sightseeing and permit coordination. Remote Tibet stays remain practical by location.
Is this route difficult even without the kora?
Yes. The full kora over Dolma La (approx. 5,630m), the Everest Base Camp altitude (approx. 5,200m) and long overland drives make this a challenging journey. Medical advice, honest preparation and careful pacing are important.
Are Chinese visa fees included?
No. Chinese visa fees are listed as an exclusion. Tibet permits, EBC permit and Kailash/Mansarovar permits are listed as included, but exact scope should be confirmed in the final package.
Can Everest or Kailash views be guaranteed?
No. EBC access and Kailash Darshan can be planned, but weather, cloud, road access and local rules affect visibility. No operator can guarantee clear mountain views.
What meals are included?
Daily breakfast is included throughout the journey. Lunch and dinner are included during Tibet overland travel. Meals outside those inclusions should follow the final program.
How does the journey end in Beijing?
On Day 13 the group drives from Saga to Lhasa, and on Day 14 flies from Lhasa to Beijing, where the package concludes. Depending on your international flight, you can connect home the same day or extend your stay in Beijing — we help you plan the timing.
Is this route affected by the Rasuwagadhi–Kerung border closure?
No. This journey enters Tibet by air from Beijing and returns to Beijing from Lhasa by air. It does not use the Rasuwagadhi–Kerung road damaged by the August 2026 flash flood.
