Luxury Kailash Yatra
Plan Yatra

Last updated: September 2026. This page explains, in plain words, what personal information we collect at Luxury Kailash Yatra, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you hold over it.

Who we are

Luxury Kailash Yatra is the premium Kailash Mansarovar service of Nepal Social Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd., a travel company registered in Nepal and operating since 2006. Our office is at Paknajol, Thamel, Kathmandu 25580, Nepal.

For any privacy question, write to info@luxurykailashyatra.com, call or message +977 9704804675, or use our contact page. Our office hours are Sunday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, Nepal time.

The short of it

  • We collect what a sacred journey needs: your contact details, your booking and travel documents, and what you tell us in conversation.
  • Travel to Tibet is permit travel, so your passport copy must be shared with the permit authorities. We share the minimum, with care.
  • We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
  • Analytics cookies are optional. Decline them and every part of this website still works.

What we collect

From the website. When you visit, our servers keep standard technical records such as pages viewed, browser type and approximate location, so the site stays reliable and secure. Essential cookies keep the website working. Analytics cookies, which you can accept or decline, help us understand how our journeys are discovered.

From your enquiry. The contact and consultation forms collect your name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, country and question, and record the consent box you tick. If you write to us by email, phone or WhatsApp, we keep that conversation.

From your booking. If you travel with us, we hold your booking details: itinerary, traveller names, dates, emergency contacts, payment references and the documents the journey needs.

Travel documents. For Tibet travel this means a clear scan of your passport, a passport-size photograph and the traveller details the permit applications require.

Health information you choose to share. High-altitude journeys ask honest health questions. If you tell us about a heart condition, medication, blood pressure or a past altitude problem, we treat that information with particular care.

Photographs from the journey. Our teams take photographs during journeys so you have memories of them. We use journey photographs publicly only with your permission.

Why we use your information

We use your information to answer your enquiry, to plan and quote your journey, to prepare and submit permits and visas, to run your booking and payments, to keep accounts, to look after you on the route, including emergencies, and to keep this website working and secure. We send marketing messages only if you have asked for them.

In the language of privacy law: we process your information to perform our contract with you, to meet legal obligations, for legitimate interests such as site security and service improvement, and with your consent where consent is required.

Your passport and permit documents

Travel to Tibet cannot happen without permits, and permits cannot happen without your passport details. To obtain the Chinese Group Visa, the Tibet Travel Permit and the route permissions, we must pass your passport scan, photograph and traveller details to the Chinese authorities and their handling offices.

We send only what the applications require, only to the offices that need it, and we keep the documents only as long as the permit process and the law demand. If a journey is cancelled, we ask the offices to withdraw unused applications where that is possible.

Health information

You choose what to tell us. What you share is used for one purpose: planning your care and pacing on the route, and acting if something goes wrong. It stays inside the journey team, including the doctor who supports our groups, unless you ask us to share it or an emergency leaves no choice.

An enquiry about a pilgrimage also says something about your faith. We hold that in the same careful hands and never use it for anything beyond your journey.

Cookies and analytics

Essential cookies are always on; they keep the site reliable and remember your cookie choice. Analytics cookies are optional; the banner lets you accept or decline them, and you can change your mind at any time in your browser settings. Declining analytics does not reduce any part of this website.

When you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is also processed by WhatsApp under its own terms and privacy policy.

Who we share your information with

  • The Chinese permit and visa authorities and their handling offices, because Tibet travel requires it.
  • The teams that run your journey: Tibet-side operators, hotels, drivers and local crews, given only what the journey needs.
  • Banks and payment providers, to match your payments to your booking. Card details are handled by the payment provider, not stored by us. The verified channels are listed on our payment procedures page.
  • Insurers and emergency assistance services, when you need evacuation or make a claim.
  • The services that host our website, forms and email.

That is the whole list. We never sell, rent or trade personal information, and we never share it for advertising.

Where your information lives

Our office and systems are in Nepal. Permit data must travel to China, and some aerial journeys pass through India. Data protection rules differ between countries, so we protect your information wherever it goes: only the necessary details, only to the necessary offices.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while the conversation is alive and for a reasonable period after. Booking, payment and account records are kept as long as tax and company law require. Travel documents are kept as long as the permit rules and any dispute period need. After that, information is deleted or destroyed.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, object to our use of it, or receive a copy to take elsewhere. You can withdraw consent for analytics or marketing at any time. We aim to answer every request within 30 days.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, these rights come from the GDPR. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know and delete your personal information, and to say no to its sale; we do not sell it. If you believe we have handled your information wrongly, write to us first, which is usually fastest, or complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Our journeys are arranged with adults. If a traveller under 18 joins a family journey, their details are provided by a parent or guardian and treated with the same care as everything else. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures: limited access, secure storage and careful habits. No website or office is perfect, so if you ever believe your information has been mishandled, tell us immediately and we will act.

Changes to this policy

When we change this page, we change the date at the top. The current version always lives at this address.
